bio
Nicola Turnbull is a jeweller, artist and silversmith. She established her workshop in 2009 in her home town of Edinburgh. She graduated from Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen in Three Dimensional Design 2007 and went on to complete a year's study at Bishopsland Postgraduate Training Course for Silversmiths and Jewellers, Reading in 2009.
Exhibition highlights include Craft Scotland Summer Show 2017, Slight of Hand exhibition at the Scottish Gallery 2015, Selected at the Dovecot and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London 2009.

I lead a project in Nepal for the charity Chora Chora where I started a jewellery enterprise for a group of marginalised young women, three of whom are deaf and one who has been rescued from the circus. I taught jewellery skills as well as setting up the workshop for a total of four months.

Exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. On show at the Contemporary Silver: 30 Years of Bishopsland exhibition was the candle holder design, Ambit Motion, and a neckpiece entitled Hidden Rhythms. (July)
Awarded the Silversmithing Bullion Grant by the Goldsmiths Company to create innovative new work

Jewellery Workshop Leader at Garvald Edinburgh's Mayfield House for adults with learning difficulties. I teach metalwork, woodwork, and beading which enables the members to create art work and jewellery for sale. In 2015 we were granted the Creative Scotland Open Project Fund, to install equipment and develop new techniques.
